This morning I have been looking through my work from Western Australia. I am overly excited by the prospect of being there next year in the middle of the Wild Flower Season. Earlier this year I was gobsmacked with the flowers and they weren’t even in season.

This morning I had planned to find another beautiful wildflower photograph for you, and in my search have uncovered so many hidden delights that lay undiscovered in my collection. I really love looking through my work after the memory of taking them is long gone. While currently my memories of Western Australia are generally still fairly fresh, there are quite a few in there that I simply can’t remember taking. It is when I am get to this state I can look at them for what they really are. Instead of the dissapointed memory of what I was trying to achieve.

This morning I fell in love with this one.. At the time of taking it, I was shooting on the theme of ‘Looking Through” which Gordon Undy gifted me in one of his artists talks, which he had picked up from someone else, who inevitably had probably picked it up from someone else again. When I take an idea I try to push it to its limits. Its tipping point. I like to break it, in an attempt to figure out how it works. So while this particular shot probably doesn’t have anywhere as much connection with the original idea of looking through, it has lead me to somewhere else.

Really, that is all that matters. Getting to somewhere you like. Creating art you love. Well, that is how it is for me.

The 2019 workshop calendar is now live on the Len’s School Website, I would say I am about 75% booked out already. So if something temps you, I do recommend getting in early.
