EX140 Simulating photographic techniques

Recently we have seen some fascinating photographs from Len’s Club members that digitally simulated other traditional film based photographic techniques. The most notable two are solarisation and cyanotypes. There are in fact so many simulations that can be made.

These could include, but not limited too:

  • Solarisation

  • Cyanotype

  • Infra red

  • Vandyke Brown

  • Plate Photography

  • Etching / drawing / painting simulations

You can do simulations in so many different software applications too. These include, but are not limited too:

  • Photoshop

  • Lightroom

  • NIK collection

  • Prisma (iphone only)

In this fortnights exercise (yes, Len will be away teaching next week so Len’s Class will be skipped and we will meet the following Tuesday.

In this exercise I ask you to explore and to share photographs that you have created that simulated other photographic techniques. Please tell us which software, and the techniques you used. I see this exercise as creating a little lovely database of techniques and looks possible.

Post three or more techniques with one photograph per technique.
