EX153 Exploring more in the everyday
With so much wet weather, and inspiration from some of the Len’s Club members recent photography and in particular Uta Barth we turn our cameras indoors. If you are like me and love to be out when the weather is wild please continue to do so, and then work on some indoor work when you return home.
Last exercise was about seeing things new. Following on from the last one.
In this exercise I ask you to look for inspiration and amazement in the everyday. I suggest you limit yourself to a room, perhaps even a spot. Leave your camera there for a week or so, and explore that space and that thing that captures your attention over time. This is definitely not an exercise you can do in one sitting.
I am away for a few weeks, Melbourne then Tasmania. We will have our next Len’s Class on Tuesday 2nd August. We won’t post a spot to put your work until a few days before we are going to discuss them. This is an opportunity to work on these alone. So often we help each other, and have a working post. For this one we won’t.
I ask you to consider the work of Uta Barth and use her for inspiration. She loves working in series. She loves diptych’s and triptych. She love even more. She is inspired by light. Please take the time to watch my presentation on her work. I think she really explores the familiar and shows us something new.
Please post only three artworks. We will put the post up only a few days before we meet in Len’s Club.
11 am Tuesday 2nd August 2022
Please note there will be no live presentations during the period that I am away.
