Apparently, we can see more green than any other colour. So, there should be lots of photo opportunities this week!

Len takes us through his very personal project where he explores trees through Abstract Photography. Len shares with us his early tree photographs that lead us to this project that has been unfolding his whole life and has specifically developing for the past five years.

In this weeks class we discuss the exercise, Inspired by David Hockney’s Colours

David Hockney has shown us that photography and specifically optics has been linked to art for the past six hundred years. His exploration of this has influenced his art, and perspective in particular. He is not only an influential painter, but also an influential photographer. Len discusses his work and uses it for inspiration in his own and suggests you do like wise.

In Len’s Class this week we go through everyones processing techniques. A great session with so much to learn.

Recently Shirley Steel reminded me of the power of DXO Nik Analog for some processing fun. It has a really simple way of layering two images in the double exposure camera. It has some really good layers for adding dust and scratches. It also has lots of film types. To remind myself, and to practice, I decided to share my recent work from the Abstract Workshop and process it in this software.

It is a sorrowful time.

Len was preparing a talk on infra red photography for Tuesday’s presentation, and unfortunately was unable to deliver it. It was to cover colour infra red photography and exploring full spectrum and which the effects of various filters on your existing camera or modified infra red camera. We hope that this brief presentation on Monochromatic Infra Red Photography will be of interest.

The next focus group discussion will be on the genre of infrared photography.
