monographs

I was going to publish another round of my ink series in the next issue of Len’s Journal, but realised that they really deserve their own monograph.  I have so many monographs I have been working on over the years, that have yet to reach publication, mainly because we are so focused on this journal. So we have decided to dedicate Len’s Journal for the year of 2027 to monographs, giving us a break and an opportunity to reimagine the future of Len’s Journal.

The four monographs in 2027 will be: my black and white abstract images tentatively called ink; a series of takayna / The Tarkine with a forward by Bob Brown; kedumba, a series of The Blue Mountains. Shirley Steel has also agreed to us publishing a series of her stunning monochrome abstracts.

Each monograph replaces the regular issue of Len’s Journal. During this break of our regular Len’s Journal, we will take the opportunity to talk to you, our readers and subscribers to find out what you would like to have in the journal. Would you like more words, longer series, individual images, more diversity, how to articles or philosophy?

If you are excited like we are about the year of monographs, you don’t need to do anything, they will just turn up as regularly as Len’s Journal does.  They will probably have a few more pages. They will be absolutely breathtaking. If you want to suspend your subscription, just log into your account and stop your subscription. We will understand that this year ahead of monographs isn’t for everyone.

These will be avaliable to all of our Len’s Journal subscribers throughout the 2027 year. We will also offer you the option to just pre purchase each monograph individually, or just purchase all four for the year. We will provide more information about these beautiful collectable books later in the year.

If you are not already a subscriber to Len’s Journal, you really should be, as subscribers get the best value for money. https://lenmetcalf.com/lensjournal
