EX174 Adding words to diptychs

This fortnight we are going to add words to our diptyches.

Consider your words as an image block.

A diptych has two images, and with words is is like laying out three photographs.

The words forming a small block of text.

To do this first decide on the words, and fonts and size of the writing. Consider how big this block of text you are going to add needs to be.

Change the location and the visual weight of the words.

To do this exercise effectively, add more than a few words. Use a quote or some writing that has a few sentances, or one long one.

Make five double page spreads, 2 x 1 in dimensions, so you have two 1 x 1 squares side by side.

In the examples bellow I have used a very simple grid system to line up the artworks and the words.

Once you have decided on a look, and choose one as your favourite. Go and make a few more with different photographs, and different quotes. See if you can make six double page spreads.

We will discuss the results in Len’s Class on Tuesday, 30th May 2023.

Post your diptychs with words here. https://lensclub.discussion.community/post/ex174-adding-words-to-diptychs-12628932?pid=1335100210#post1335100210
