In this continuation of the series Analyse This, Len explores some early Australain Pictorialism, with John Kauffman’s introduction of it to Australia and Harold Cazeaux’s Spirit of Endurance. Other artists discussed in this series are Pierre Dubreuil and his tribute to cubism and Jaroslav Rossler’s abstract work from the 1920’s. Len also discussed Margrethe Mather’s work, she was influential for Edward Weston, and they did some amazing work together that Margrethe clearly lead.

Len kicks off a new series with a set of four episodes in this pilot. The goal is to try and capture the magic that happens when we discuss particular photographs, discussing how and why they work or are important.

The intention is that these short episodes are used to market Len’s Club to a broader audience. We are interested to hear your thoughts about them and if we should continue the series. We will chop this episode up and repost it in shorter ten minute bites. To make them more accessible for those moments when ten minutes is just enough.
