EX142 David Hockney colours
David Hockney uses the most incredible colours. He even has colours named after him… The Hockney Green, the Hockney Red.
He gets his colours from drawing on an iPad. What this means is that he is using digital saturation to get exciting new colours into his work. Colours that don’t seem to exist in paints.
We have access to vivid colours because we also use digital processing. We have the same gamut of colours available to us.
So for this weeks exercise try expressing yourself with inspiration from his colour palette.
See how bright and vivid you can make a successful artwork.
