EX143 I speak for...
In this weeks exercise I want to ask you what is important for you?
What do you speak for?
Perhaps it isn’t for a cause, but it is for a core interest.
Spend some time reflecting on what is important to you.
I would suggest you write a list of the things that are most important to you, particularly in your art and photography, though it is good not to exclude something on your list just because you don’t make art about it directly.
See if you can get your list to nine things that are important to you.
Order or prioritise your list, with the most important at the top.
Which photographic thing is the highest on your list? Is there something more important that you don’t create art about or with?
Share three photographs that show us what is important to you. Make the three all about the same thing, rather than working down your list.
I would like to suggest that this is something you might spend much longer working on than a week. So think of this as a starting point. A moment to clarify what it is that is important to you.
I can’t wait to see what eventuates.
For me it is trees. In my list this comes across as environmental concerns about the climate catastrophe we are in the midst of. Trees are my metaphor for this issue.
Post three images about this one cause in the forum here https://lensclub.discussion.community/post/ex143-i-speak-for-12320316?pid=1332330114#post1332330114
We will discuss these next week in Len’s Class
