EX144 I would like to explore...

This weeks class was so amazing. The group sharing some incredibly personal work, stories and reasons behind their photography.

I have been thinking about where to next.

Some even mentioned that where they are going is more important to them.

In the coming weeks I am off galavanting around, first a week in the Blue Mountains with my son, then a week with Peter Eastway in Narooma. This means we will have class fortnightly during the next four weeks. Some will come from where I am camping I suspect.

I thought a mini project was in order. The title of this is ‘I would like to explore…’

I ask you to think about one idea (genre, technique, subject or what ever) you would like to go with your photography, and then to explore it.

We will will have a review half way through in a fortnights time, to give some feedback and offer advice.

This will be the 26th April at 11 am Sydney time, in the usual Len’s class time spot.

Post your photographs for discussion and feedback mid project here:

Then you will get another fortnight to work on your mini project and we will look at the final results in a months time on the 10th May at 11 am Sydney time in our usual Len’s class time spot. If we get a lot of submissions we will continue that review of the work on the following Tuesday, 17th May.

The Mini Project

  1. Decide on somewhere you would like to go with your photography

  2. Define it into a small project you can work on over 4 weeks

  3. Create photographs that explore your project

  4. Prepare three photographs to post in a fortnights time for feedback and tell us what your mini project is

  5. Continue to explore your project

  6. Work on artworks that speak to each other in cohesive groups.

  7. Prepare and display your photographs in pairs - dyptiches

  8. Post three individual dyptiches that show the depth and breadth of your mini project

  9. Have fun…
