EX86 Just Two Colours

Using only two colours in an artwork is a fantastic way to minimise distractions and help create harmonious compositions. They help us keep focus on composition and colour balance.

This weeks exercise is deceptively simple.

Post three photographs with only two colours.

ONLY TWO HUES

The two colours can be:

  • Complementary opposites

  • Harmonious

  • Visually psychologially opposites (blue / yellow or red / green)

or

  • Purely emotional

  • What ever two colours you feel like

Shoot with feeling not theory

But

ONLY TWO COLOURS…

Blue and Yellow

Blue and Yellow

Purple and Yellow

Purple and Yellow

‘Almost’ This photograph has many colours doesn’t it. The primary colour is orange, the secondary is green, it also has yellow and red. So this doesn’t fit the requirements of this exercise.

As I will be away next Friday, the zoom meeting will still be going ahead without me, so please join in and have a talk together and catch up...  The goal is to talk about what you are learning from the exercises and to give each other encouragement by telling others what you like about their work... It would take too long to discuss all the work, so why not concentrate on the work of those that are at the meeting...  here is the link to the meeting...
