EX57 Left and right bias

Did you know that we have a left and right visual bias?

If we were to flip a photograph around and look at it as a mirror image of the first, we will notice a bias towards one of the photographs.

I find that I have an automatic bias towards the way I took the photograph. This obsession with how I saw it, remember it, and how I took it, makes it very hard for me to really analyise my own preferences. So I thought it would be a great idea to help each other out.

Post two photographs, or many more, and include both the original and the mirror versions. Do not tell us which one is which. Then as they arrive in the comments, we can tell you which ones we prefer, and why. The why is very important… how the eye flows around the image. Lets see if we agree on the bias, or perhaps it doesn’t matter.

It apparently comes from how we are taught to read. We always start at the top left and move rightwards along the top of the page. Theorists hypothesise that this is the reason we prefer some directions over the other visually.

Many a photographer has had an image that isn’t working well for them in public or in competitions, then flipped it and suddenly started winning with it.

So is this true?

Which one do you prefer? Why? I will post this one in the comments so you can answer this question.
