EX60 Just start
Just start…
This weeks exercise is about starting some of those projects you have in the back of your mind. Please visit the website for more details about starting….
EX54 Crop someone else's photographs...
This week we are going to experiment with cropping someone else’s photographs.
EX34 Time to mature
How long do you wait before you assess your work? Do you give your work adequate time to mature? I like to give my work a year or two for it to mature. It’s about letting go of expectations and preconceived ideas. This week we will revisit old work that you discarded close to the time of capture.
EX31 Ten Seconds as a restriction
This weeks exercise is around restricting yourself with a ten second exposure. Personally, I will be exploring some colour abstracts with this restriction at the beach. But there are so many other things you can do with a set exposure length. Are restrictions good for creativity. I think so.
EX26 Seeking Critiques
This week we will explore the gentle art of critique, and consider our mentors.
EX21 Limit your focal length
A week with one focal length. Sounds easy? Staying with it for a full week may be the challenge.
EX13 What do you love?
I find my best work is directly related to my personal passions. My loves.
What do you love to photograph? Is it your best work? Is your favorite work of subjects you are most passionate about?
Do you know what your passionate about photographing?
EX9 Analise your favourite photographs
Understanding why your favourite photographs work will help you take better photographs. Yes. It is that simple. The more you analyse your own work and the work of others the better. This week I ask you to sit with one of your own favourite photographs and contemplate why it works for you.
Exploring the tipping point
Searching for the tipping point in any visual medium is worthwhile. Spend some time trying to break your compositions, find that very special edge between success and failure.
Photographs are everywhere
This exercise is about pushing past the obvious and trying to see more that what initially meets the eye. This exercise will need you to visit a relatively random location.
In the style of....
In this exercise you will be asked to create photographs in the style of one of your favorite artists, artworks or artistic techniques.
